Susan Murphy, Associate, CEPSM, is a strategic communications and certified AI consultant. She’s the co-founder of Jester, an Ottawa-based consultancy that helps governments, non-profits, post-secondary institutions, and mission-driven organizations communicate clearly and adopt emerging technology responsibly. With more than 35 years of working at the intersection of communications, technology, and organizational change, she has advised clients across Canada and the U.S., delivered consulting engagements for federal government organizations, and built a practice grounded in the belief that good communications makes complexity navigable, for every audience, across every medium.
As an educator, Susan has been a professor and course developer at Algonquin College since 1997, teaching in the Interactive Media Design, Social Media Certificate, Public Relations, and Professional Writing programs. She has delivered courses for CEPSM since 2018 and brings both practical sector communications experience and a trained eye for responsible use of AI. Her focus is on helping public sector and non-profit communicators build real confidence with AI tools while keeping their expertise, judgment, and organizational voice firmly in the loop.
