Terms for training, workshops and education materials
The Centre of Excellence for Public Sector Marketing (CEPSM) (“we”) and the customer (“you”) agree that the following terms (“Terms”) apply to your orders for training and education workshops (“Workshops”) or education materials (“Education Materials”). You accept these Terms by attending our Workshop or by using our Education Materials.
The information you provide at the time of enrollment will be used for Billing and/or to contact you with respect to future Workshops or Educational Materials that may be of interest to you.

We offer Workshops at sites chosen by us (“our sites”) or, if we agree, at a site chosen by you (“your site”). Workshops at our sites begin on the date stated in our course schedule or, if that date is not available, on the alternative date stated in the enrollment confirmation we send to you. If the alternative date is not acceptable, you may cancel your enrollment in accordance with the section entitled “Canceling or Postponing Workshops”. We may provide Workshops at your site subject to mutually acceptable additional terms. Unless we agree otherwise in writing, you may not use any recording equipment in any of our Workshops.
Workshops taught in French will have English material, unless otherwise stated.
Education Materials may be in printed, audio, video or machine-readable form. Your use of our Education Materials is subject to the section of these Terms entitled “License”. Unless we agree otherwise, you agree to make sure that you do not;
- copy them, or
- disclose them except to your employees.
Payment is required at time of registration by VISA, MasterCard, or AMEX. If your organization or department does not have a credit card for your use, we will accept a Purchase Order Number and payment by cheque. However, the cheque must be received ten (10) days prior to the workshop date. Your registration will not be considered guaranteed until payment is received. Charges are in Canadian dollars (CAD) unless otherwise stipulated.
Online credit card transaction processing is supplied by Moneris Solutions. Moneris is committed to ensuring the integrity of payment information and the prevention of credit card fraud. Moneris works with the credit card associations to ensure that its e-commerce payment processing solutions are secure and in complete compliance with their rules and regulations.

Shopping on our site is safe
When you provide us with any personal information — your name, address, e-mail and credit card number — it’s done on a secure server. One of today’s most advanced security systems — Secure Socket Layers (SSL) — encrypts all information you provide before sending it to our own server. Only when it reaches our servers is your information decrypted.
Encryption is currently the most effective way to securely transmit data over the Internet. Web browsers use encryption to enable safe online communications and transactions between you and the Web sites you interact with.
We recommend that you use a Web browser that supports 128-bit encryption for all your Internet activities. In fact, you will be required to use a 128-bit browser to access all of our secure Web pages. If one of our secure Web pages requires an encryption level that your browser does not support, you will likely receive an error message when you attempt to gain access. If this occurs, we recommend that you download a more recent version of your browser.
Credit Card Guarantees
Most financial institutions or credit card providers either cover all charges resulting from unauthorized use of your credit card or limit your liability to $50 (Canadian). In the event of unauthorized use of your credit card, you must notify your credit card provider in accordance with its reporting rules and procedures. The prices for Workshops and Education Materials in the Guide are subject to change without notice up to the date we either confirm enrollment in a Workshop, or we ship your order for Education Materials, as the case may be. The price for Workshops include the use of all required Education Materials and equipment at our site but do not include travel or living expenses. Prices for Education Materials do not include shipping, unless we agree otherwise. We quote prices for Workshops held at your site on a special basis depending on several factors such as your provision of appropriate classroom space, facilities and computer time. You agree to pay any taxes, duties or government levies of any kind resulting from transactions under these Terms except taxes based on CEPSM’s net income. We specify our charges in the invoice we send to you. You agree to pay us as we specify in the invoice. We may charge you for late payments on terms specified in the invoice.
Some types of Education Materials are licensed to you with their own license terms under shrink-wrap or other format. If such is the case, you agree to abide by such license terms.
Except as expressly stated in these terms, or in any applicable license agreement, there are no warranties or conditions, express or implied, including, but not limited to, implied warranties or conditions of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose or as to results to be attained by attending Workshops or using Education Materials.
We may modify these Terms on written notice. The modified Terms will apply to your enrollment or order unless you cancel such enrollment or order prior to the effective date. Otherwise, for a change to be valid, both of us must sign it. Additional or different terms and conditions in any order or communication from you are void.
Unless otherwise provided in these Terms, we may withdraw Workshops and Education Materials or change the Guide at any time without notice.
Canceling or postponing workshops:
No refunds or cancellations will be made on the Webinar Program.
You may cancel a workshop enrollment prior to thirty (30) calendar days before the workshop date with written notice to firstname.lastname@example.org, however, a $75.00 Administration Fee will apply.
A 75% refund of payment will be given for cancellations received in writing 30 to 15 calendar days prior to the workshop date, and a 50% refund will be given for cancellations received in writing 14 to 8 calendar days prior to the workshop. We will not accept cancellations 7 calendar days prior to the workshop, however, substitutions are permitted and encouraged.
To cancel an enrollment or to provide the contact information for a substitute replacement, please email email@example.com.
If a participant does not attend a workshop without having canceled in accordance with our terms, you must pay the full amount for the workshop.
Neither party will bring a legal action under these Terms more than two years after the cause of action arose.
You may have additional rights under certain laws that do not allow us to exclude implied warranties or conditions or to exclude or limit certain damages. If so, those exclusions or limitations may not apply to you.
Our written consent is necessary before you may assign, sub-license or otherwise transfer any license or any Education Materials we provide under these Terms or any copies of them.
Neither party is responsible for failure to fulfill any obligations due to causes beyond its control.
You agree not to use our trademarks, trade names, or other designations in any promotion or publication without our prior written consent.
The laws in the Province of Ontario govern these Terms.
These Terms are the complete agreement and replace any prior communications, between CEPSM and you concerning this subject matter.
