Alex Babaris is an intelligence analyst who works to help clients understand the bigger picture of what they face. Alex used to work supporting private clients in the former Soviet Union by providing insight and intelligence products to support their corporate work. In the digital space, Alex works with both data and people. He supports clients’ understanding of data through social-network analysis, entity-based research, and business-needs analysis. He leads digital-safety trainings and courses on intelligence tradecraft. Alex received his Bachelor’s degree in history from Trent University and Master’s degree in history from Carleton University’s Institute for Russian and East/Central European Studies (EURUS). Alex is a fluent Russian speaker. Alex is passionate about coaching, education and sports. He previously coached swimmers from the development to national level. As a swimmer, he nearly qualified for the Canadian Olympic Team in 2008.
